I captured this image from between the historic live oak trees along Retreat Avenue on a wonderful sunny morning in St Simons Island, GA. It was one of those, "right place at the right time" kinda images. If you have never been to this part of Georgia's beautiful Atlantic coast, well you'll just have to put this location on your "Bucket List". Enjoy!
The Avenue of Oaks which is often called Oak Alley is located on Retreat Avenue on St. Simons Island, Georgia. It is said that Anne Page King planted this famous oak-lined pathway more than 150 years ago. The oaks highlight the entrance to the Sea Island Golf Club. Visitors are invariably captivated by the beautiful natural canopy provided by the thousands of live oak trees that grow to such majestic sizes in this area. Soli Deo gloria
